Vibe coding for medical & surgical education

Build things. Break things. Learn things.

A safe place for medical and surgical trainees to experiment with AI, code and digital ideas.

idea > prompt > build > test > deploy

Before you start: where this is, and what must stay out

  • This is not a UL or UHL service. Surgical Sandbox has nothing to do with the University of Limerick or University Hospital Limerick. It is an independent, privately run project.
  • Your data leaves those networks. Anything you put on this website or the Sandbox server is stored outside the UL and UHL networks.
  • No patient or sensitive data. Do not upload patient information, or any other sensitive or confidential data. Use made-up or public data for everything you build.

What you get

Build

Your own private workspace on the Sandbox server. Open it in VS Code and start making things.

Deploy

Your own web address, like www.012walshd.darawalsh.com. Save a page and it's live. No setup, no restart.

Experiment

Your space is yours. You can't break anyone else's work, and they can't break yours.

How it works

  1. Request access.
Tell us who you are and what you'd like to build.
  2. Get approved.
    Dara reviews every request personally.
  3. Choose your password.
You'll get your username and a one-time link. Lost it later? Ask for a new one.
  4. Connect and build.
One email has everything you need. The setup guide walks you through it.

Never written code? Perfect.

No coding experience required. Curiosity is.

The Sandbox is for learning by doing. One rule keeps it safe: no patient or sensitive data, ever. Use made-up or public data for everything you build.
